Join the MWE for a program featuring the music of two of history’s first socially distanced composers! Andrea and Giovanni Gabrieli were founders of the Venetian polychoral performance style, featuring widely spaced (distanced!) choirs of singers and instruments in Venice’s iconic St. Mark’s Cathedral. The program will also feature music professor Aaron Boyd as narrator in a performance of Anthony Plog’s delightful Animal Ditties, with texts by Ogden Nash. The MWE will conclude with Francis Poulenc’s Suite Francaise for harpsichord and chamber orchestra, with two-time Meadows alumnus Christopher Widomski as soloist.
