“When we sing, we announce our existence.” This statement by Bernice Johnson Reagon, founder of the African American women’s a cappella ensemble, Sweet Honey in the Rock, perfectly describes this performance by the Meadows choirs. On March 1, 2020, these artists shared what would become their final concert for many months. And although they are still unable to gather as full ensembles, they are thrilled to once again be able share their gifts with one another and with you. The music for this event will be intimate in nature, but filled with the expansive joy that only singing can provide. Please join us from your homes for an evening of beautiful music that explores the vast diversity of the choral canon.
